Great Britain is a mysterious country with ancient traditions. It is a country with a rich historical and cultural heritage and hospitable inhabitants, a country where people still love their monarch, a country where the traditions of ancestors are carefully respected, a country with stunning landscapes that seem to have come straight out of the pages of ancient fairy tales and legends. The British Empire was a mighty European state for centuries, significantly influencing world culture. Today, it is the English language that allows people from different countries to communicate.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a unitary state, a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of government. The capital of the Kingdom is the city of London. The Kingdom unites four historical provinces: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Crown dependencies are associated with the United Kingdom, although they are not constitutionally part of it. The United Kingdom has 14 Overseas Territories.

Great Britain is one of the most popular countries for education in the world. The British education system has developed over many centuries and is governed by strict requirements for the quality of education. Education is compulsory for every citizen aged 5 to 16, and qualifications obtained in the United Kingdom are recognized worldwide.

Thousands of language schools teaching English for foreigners operate in Great Britain. To ensure proper quality, the country's government has established a number of organizations that accredit all educational institutions and control the quality of education.
